This year San Francisco Zine Fest went completely online as Cyber Fest. When they asked me to do a screen printing demo on behalf of Print Organize Protest I quickly realized Bay Area P.O.P. has been pretty dormant since the last screen printing event we did at SFZF 2019.
I quickly whipped some screens and supplies together and printed posters during the demo from some recent artwork created by Jordan Crane which he shared on his twitter page. This was a fun experience and I dropped off a bunch of posters in two locations for people to pick up. Most of them have found new homes by now.
You can watch the whole thing here:
In the process of getting ready for this demo, I learned that the person who had been the official guardian of P.O.P. supplies and equipment, like many people these days, is moving out of town. One thing led to another, and now I am the new guardian of these supplies.
This means, if you would like to organize a Print Organize Protest event here in the Bay Area, you should get in touch with me. I look forward to doing more of these. It is my favorite way to contribute to the good fight.
